Great Product and Price Point
I ordered this based on a few things; price point can’t be beat and the Hyaluronic Acid serum from Tree of Life is a good product. I use the Tree of Life Vitamin C serum under Cetaphil’s Healthy Renew retinol cream 3 days a week and my skin is really soft and smooth and looks pretty good. I am 63 and can really see a difference after a few weeks of using the Vitamin C serum. It’s non-irritating and I think does a good job. If I use the Vitamin C serum w/ retinol more than 3 days a week, my skin gets a tiny bit red, but that is to be expected. It’s worth trying if you want to even out skin tone. Also try the Hyaluronic Acid from Tree of Life. It’s a great product.

A four star review but I am looking else where
I wanted to give this a thorough review so that when you decide on buying this you are comfortable in your decision. I bought this product in June to add to my new regimen in clearing my acne and diminishing once and for all my acne scars on my jawline and on my neck. For reference I am a African American college student with acne prone, sensitive and oily skin. When I first used this it did not break me out which is always a plus and did not make my oily skin even more oily. As days went by my skin seemed brighter overall and this gave me a slight glow. After a whole month of using this product I will say this has made my skin appear even in tone and much brighter and that is why I gave it four stars. Now regarding my acne scars, this is why its not five stars. Now listen to me, I am impatient and have had these scars for four years so my expectations for this were high. Reviews have stated this product has lightened their scars in a matter of weeks, so forgive me for being highly optimistic. However, the experiences I had with this only heightened my naivety to vitamin c serums and what it would take to cure my age old acne scars. I understand that products fighting hyper pigmentation do not work overnight, but I have used this twice a day with sunscreen in the mornings for a month and the bottle will be almost finished in the coming week. I am not asking for a miracle tomorrow for these scars, but just to see if my skin if at all is effected by the one-month use of this. I am not going to lie, one scar on my face has lightened a shade during the duration of using it, but I don’t know if it truly was this or the glycolic acid toner I have been using. You decide that. However, for the rest of my face and the scars on my neck my scars are still very much prominent. I wanted something potent and this product is not potent enough FOR ME. The vitamin c that is used here is Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate which is a more convenient and tolerable form of vitamin c. This acid is best for acne prone skin since it doesn’t cause much irritation. This ingredient is also why this product is still okay if you store it in a medicine cabinet. A plus for those who hate storing products for their face in their fridge, but not so great for those who need very potent products to get rid of very stubborn acne scars. I realized that this vitamin c wasn’t really potent when I didn’t see the most common potent form of vitamin c in the ingredient list, L-absorbic acid. That acid would be more beneficial for those with very stubborn acne scars but because of its high potentness’ and its mixture with other derivatives it may cause irritation for those with acne prone and sensitive skin which is why using a site like cosdna.com and seeing how ingredients react to your skin would come in handy. Overall, would I recommend this product? Definitely for those who have light acne scars, sensitive skin and needs a proper intro to vitamin c. However, for me personally, buying tree of life every month is just not beneficial for me and the ingredient sodium ascorbyl phosphate is just not strong enough for these age old scars I have so I will look for products with L-asorbic acid.

Seems to be effective without being overly-irritating.
I like this product because it contains retinol as well as hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid makes my skin look and feel nice, and should offset some of the irritation from the retinol. I was a bit nervous the retinol in this product may not be effective because of others saying it caused no irritation, effective retinol does often cause at least some minor irritation during initial treatment. After a week or so of use I didn’t notice visible irritation but I did notice my skin becoming a bit more sensitive at times. I am not one of those people who thinks that products need to sting or they aren’t working, but that minor irritation did prove to me that the retinol in my bottle is effective due to the nature of retinol. Like I said before, the hyaluronic acid in the product may offset the irritation a bit. I think this is a great product, it seems to be working nicely and I like the formulation. You do need to use a teensy bit more product than I find with some serums because this product doesn’t have as much slip or spread quite as well, but you still don’t need to use much. This isn’t a problem for me, though, because retinol should be repurchased every month or so anyway because after that period of time the effectiveness is really decreased due to exposure to air, unless it is in a vacuum-sealed bottle. I like this product a lot and will be repurchasing.EDIT: I’m now a month in and this product is definitely working, my icepick acne scars are really starting to fade and my sebacious hyperplasia, which are permanent bumps on my skin caused by skin overgrowth in my oil glands, are diminishing. Keep in mind that retinol is more effective when not combined with an acidic product, so I use my face wash with Beta hydroxy acid (salicylic acid – a pore cleanser) in the morning when I use my other serum, and use a cleanser without any acids in it at night before I apply this serum. I also ceased my alpha hydroxy acid (glycolic acid) night cream so as to give this product the full benefit. I had begun applying it before my skin was 100% dry after cleansing since when my skin is ever so slightly damp the product does spread easier, resulting in an ability to use less product, but keep in mind that doing things that way (slightly damp skin) does cause the retinol to penetrate the skin deeper which can cause more irritation. I have actually just repurchased this product even though I have quite a bit left, because retinol that is not packaged in a vacuum seal is most effective within the first month or so after opening due to gradual breakdown of the retinol as it is exposed to air. So in the future I will be applying it to totally dry skin, which is the suggested way, and just using a bit more product since I am repurchasing it monthly and there is definitely enough to get through a month with slightly more liberal application than I was doing.

Effective yet gentle on sensitive skin!
I have used this as part of my daily skincare routine for over a month now and I recently purchased a second one during Prime Days in July. I apply this to my face and neck after cleansing in the morning before using sunscreen. It is unscented and lightweight once absorbed.For reference, I am 40 with sensitive (redness) and combination skin. This has really helped even out my skin tone and texture. I saw results just after a few days of use.It is easy to apply and while the dropper feels like it isn’t grabbing enough liquid, the amount in one “grab” is more than enough. A little goes a long way. I have nothing but positive things to say about this- go get it!

Good for hydration only
While this product felt good upon application it didn’t go well with my makeup. The quality seemed good but in all honesty I saw little difference in my skin. While hydrated, it was rather ineffective in the appearance of wrinkle reduction .

I loves this serum. I am using the second bottle. I find a slight decreasing of fine lines on my face which is a plus point. What i do not like is the lack of info and direction of usage provided. I have spent so much of those expensive French products but i do not see any effect but this Tree Of Life Retinol does. It will takes time, they are not miracle cream but at least i can see improvements.
